COUNSELING by JOSH KELLAR
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counseling Intern
Supervised by Jason Martin, Ph.D, LMFT-S, LPC-S

I graduated from Harding University in Searcy, AR in 2003 with a BA in Preaching. While there, I met my wife Krista and we married in 2002. In 2004 I began my graduate work at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX where I graduated in 2006 with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and in 2008 with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry.

Before entering ministry full-time, I served as the Clinical Director for a foster agency, Hope for Tomorrow. I served as a children's minister in both Texas and Tennessee. Before moving to Belton, I had the pleasure of staying at home with my two daughters for a year and a half. During that time, we began homeschooling our daughters and have currently joined the teaching partnership with Providence Preparatory School here in Belton. Since moving to Belton we have been blessed with a son who is doted on by his big sisters!
In 2013 I began providing counseling in my church office in order to better serve the community in and around Belton, TX. The demands of ministry limited the amount of counseling I was able to provide so in 2017, I resigned from full-time ministry to devote myself more fully to counseling. After completing my licensure requirements for my LMFT, I joined the counseling team at Lakewood Counseling Center. There I continue to work towards licensure as a Licensed Professional Counseling Intern, and am currently under the supervision of Jason Martin, Ph.D, LMFT-S, LPC-S.
